Welcome to our home, Emmy!

The day has finally come after some disappointments, and a lot of prayer, and many years of Tristian proving that he can care for animals... we went to the Not So Grande rescue yesterday and adopted Emmy, a brown Miniature Pinscher. She's a lovely dog and very well behaved, and we have to admit she seems the perfect fit in our home. Just in time for Christmas, you won't believe how happy Tristian and all the children are. I think they'll be sleeping in this morning based on how exited they were so much so that they had a hard time sleeping. Emmy's on Tristian's bed right now still asleep. I think she recognizes who her main caregiver will be. It's a happy time for the whole family! Above are a few pictures from the first day just before bedtime.

Ready, Aim, ... look out for Mandy!

Thanks to the Ingram's for taking Mandy and I out shooting on Monday. It was Mandy's first time, and Tom provided a great education to help us figure out the kind of fire arm we'd like to have available for our own protection. I don't know if we'll be going for a M1A rifle like Mandy's holding right away. A revolver or semi-auto will probably be the place to start. Mandy was really getting the hang of it. You may not want to get on her bad side at close range.

Big night in Tucson is fun for the whole family!

Grandpa came along (and "Chip" Baggett who Quintus used to teach in YM), and we all had a great time at the football game on Thursday night where Arizona upset Oregon, 34-24. As you'll see on Tristian's Spencer Larsen page, Larsen had a huge game too with a total of 16 tackles 3 tackles for loss and a sack. We were fortunate to have Spencer and his family at our home on November 4 just before having him give a fireside in our Stake. He's a great man with a great family; a hard worker, and we hope he'll continue to have great success! Miranda, Ammon, and Tristian all had a great time at the game!

Dress up time!

Here are our children at the ward halloween party. This is the first post to our new "blog". I was considering how it's difficult for me to keep up to date information by modifying my web page http://quintus.schulzke.org/ ; I also don't like encouraging the use of sites like "facebook" or "myspace" because of the kind of trash they tempt you with, but if you do already use facebook, you can view some recent family photos from earlier in the year here.
